The Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ receives prestigious international Dedalo Minosse Award
The award is given for special cooperation of architects and their clients - governmental and private organisations - in the realization of architecture that strongly contributes to the quality of its environment. There are four main awards. Besides, eight winners of the special awards are chosen from the selection of 500 projects,
among which the Muziekgebouw/Bimhuis. According to the jury the city of Amsterdam succeeded in 'realizing an innovative building on a special location at the banks of the IJ'.
Earlier this year the Muziekgebouw already won the Award of Excellence from the Urban Land Institute - another important award for redevelopment of communities - for introducing a cultural element in the obsolete Amsterdam harbour area and it is one of the nominees for De Gouden Pyramide, the Dutch governmental award for inspiring commissioning.
