This concert hall of the 21st century offers a contemporary and exciting programme which continually forges links with other eras, styles, cultures and art forms. The Muziekgebouw shows current musical developments in the shape of festivals, thematic projects, multimedia concerts and special series. Special features of the large concert hall (seating 729 , standing room 1500) are it's variable acoustics, flexible auditorium arrangement and very wide stage area. There is also a small foyer hall (seating 100).The Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ has its origins in Muziekcentrum De IJsbreker, which has been a leading international centre for contemporary music for 25 years.
